The Girl Scouts of Orange County paid a visit to Spectrum Brands HHI headquarters on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 to earn their STEM badge.
Hosted by National Hardware, the Brownies girls (ages 7-8) were taken through a lab tour and hands on workshop. Led by the Engineering team, the lab tour took the girls through a series of steps needed to create a finished product.
They took part in learning about modeling and 3D printing, rekey and digital key technology, barn door testing, and finally--installation.
After the tour, the girls had a hands-on workshop where they learned to make their own serving trays using National Hardware pulls. Applying their math skills, each girl had to measure out the position of each pull to make sure the weight was evenly distributed.
Thank you for visiting Spectrum Brands HHI headquarters, Girl Scouts!
